Bim Bim the Duck in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam

Bim Bim, a very proud duck, is a pet of a grade-12 Vlogger in Tra On district, Vinh Long province of Vietnam. Thanks to the presence of Bim Bim the duck, the Vlogger has received 170,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel. Bim Bim doesn’t realise that he/she becomes a star, but he/she enjoys being filmed.

Her entertaining videos are evocative of my verdant countryside of Vietnam. In the rainy season, it poured almost every day. The paths were full of mud, which made it difficult for me to ride to school.

In this video, the girl celebrated Bim Bim’s first birthday. She would show you a typical path lined with lush vegetation and an open-air market at her village.

This video shows a typical day of life in the Mekong Delta.  It rained, rained, and rained. The mom’s vlogger was eliminating broken rice grains and unwanted seeds from rice grains through a handcrafted sieve, and the girl was preparing dinner for Bim Bim the duck. Bim Bim had a feast of boiled golden apple snails, which were his/her favorite food.

I believe her videos provide you a window to a different world – a world of simplicity and a struggle for survival.

Enjoy watching!
